I'd rather have Jesus-George Beverly Shea
George Beverly Shea (1909~ ) 캐나다 감리교 목사의 아들로 태어났다.
어느날 예배를 준비하던 그가 어머니 피아노 앞에, 생활이 어려울 때면 어머니가 꺼내읽던 시를
보고 1929년 작곡을 하게된다. 이때 그의 나이가 21세 였다고 한다. 이후 그는 찬양가수로서 활동
하게 되었다고 한다, 우리나라에서 는 1973년 번역되어 애창되기 시작하엿다고 한다.
